Saves

Sync RetroArch saves with RomM, and quit RetroArch the right way so your progress is written.

Clamshell doesn't sync saves. Your saves stay wherever each emulator keeps them.

Sync RetroArch saves with RomM

RetroArch has its own Cloud Sync, and RomM supports it:

  1. In RetroArch, open the Cloud Sync settings.
  2. Choose WebDAV.
  3. Enter your RomM address ending in /api/cloud-sync/, for example

https://romm.example.com/api/cloud-sync/. Keep the slash at the end.

  1. Enter your RomM username and password.

See RetroArch's Cloud Sync guide for the rest of the options.

Quit RetroArch from its menu

When you finish playing in RetroArch, quit from RetroArch's menu, or with your quit hotkey. Don't press Home or go back to Clamshell.

When Clamshell starts RetroArch, RetroArch closes as soon as you leave it. This stops it from freezing when you start your next game. But if you press Home, it closes without writing your save or your resume point. Quitting from RetroArch's menu writes both, so they're also ready for the next sync.

Other emulators keep running in the background when you press Home, and you keep your place.
